Miramichi

Miramichi was amalgamated from the towns of Newcastle, Chatham, and outlying communities. It spans the Miramichi River.

Railroad action in Miramichi takes place in these two areas:

  • CN's Miramichi yard (including the VIA Rail station)
  • Ultramar bulk fuel depot

The Miramichi yard was fairly busy until the UPM-Kymmene shutdown. However, one can usually see some motive power there.

Note the CN tank train here. 17-car trains are brought here and
unloaded in 3-4 hours.
