Much more information has been written about the Canadian Government Railways than I could ever hope to write. This page will attempt to provide an overview of the CGR's history in New Brunswick. On April 1, 1916 these government-owned railways were merged into the CGR:
On May 20, 1918 seven New Brunswick railways were merged with the CGR:
The CGR eventually became part of the ((Canadian National Railway)) system together with the ((Canadian Northern Railway)) system in 1919.
