Chasing Sunsets
Starfall

Poetry | Chasing Sunsets

It seems my time these days is spent chasing sunsets
Chasing after beauty over the horizon
Trying to freeze them in the frame of my life
Trying to freeze time while it's still there

Though I still feel the hot sun of my life
Beating down from the sky in my head
I feel a change in the heat, a break
Perhaps, a start to a long cooling

At times I feel like nowhere is home
Splitting my time and my heart and my mind
At times I feel like I'm always in transit
And change seems the only constant

Soon enough my own sunset will catch me
And sun's heat will yield to cold moonlight
For now I'll be content to chase sunsets
And hope I don't catch one for very long
