Steve Boyko NB Power

1989-2009

I started work for NB Power, the provincial electric power utility, on May 8, 1989. I was called an Information Technology Specialist - Generation (whatever that means) and worked in the Generation Engineering department in the head office. I traveled to the different powerplants on occasion, but mostly supported them from my desk using our intranet.

Highlights of my work were a seven-week trip to Switzerland for training, being the corporate PI guru, coding my own data acquisition system under OS/2, and drinking a zillion cans of Coke.

I also ran my own company, Infinity Enterprises, doing consulting work - mostly custom programming.
