CN Bedford Subdivision

The Bedford subdivision runs from Halifax to Truro, Nova Scotia. This is part of CN’s eastern main line between Halifax and Montreal.

CN trains 120 and 121 and 307 and 308 all run on the Bedford Subdivision. VIA Rail’s Ocean passenger train runs along the entire subdivision.

Trains 701 and 703 are dedicated gypsum trains that run loads from National Gypsum’s mine in Milford, NS (mile 36.6) to Wrights Cove on the CN Dartmouth Sub (connection at mile 15.6).

There are also local trains that run from Truro and from Halifax, usually powered by one or two GP38 units.
