The CAR was formed out of the various CP Rail subdivisions in New Brunswick and Maine, together with the Dominion Atlantic Railway track in Nova Scotia.

  • Edmundston: Aroostook to Edmundston
  • Fredericton: Fredericton Junction to Fredericton
  • Gibson: Newburg to South Devon
  • Halifax: Windsor Junction to Kentville
  • Houlton: Debec Junction to Houlton
  • Kentville: Kentville to Annapolis Royal
  • Mattawamkeag: McAdam to Brownville Junction
  • McAdam: Mill Street (Saint John) to McAdam
  • Moosehead: Brownville Junction to Megantic
  • Shogomoc: McAdam to Aroostook
  • Southampton: Southampton to Nackawic
  • St. Andrews: Watt to St. Andrews
  • St. Stephen: McAdam to St. Stephen
  • Tobique: Perth Junction to Plaster Rock
  • Truro: Windsor to end of track
  • West Saint John: Lancaster to West Saint John
  • Yarmouth: Annapolis Royal to Yarmouth
