Want to own an inn with a dozen rail cars? A historic station in beautiful Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia? A dining car?
Well, you’re in luck! The Train Station Inn is for sale.
The Train Station Inn was founded By James LaFresne. He purchased the train station itself in 1973 (when he was 18), and began restoration of the station in 1987.
Railway cars started accumulating in 1994, and today there’s about a dozen cars on site – cabooses, boxcars, dining car Cabot and the historic business car Alexandra.
We visited the site in 2006 when we were in Tatamagouche for a wedding. We didn’t stay at the Inn because it was full – no doubt from other people attending the wedding!
I can’t say anything about the business part of it, except that the Inn has been in operation for more than 35 years.
Wow, nice place/operation. I hope it carries on with new responsible owners.
