The Canadian Pacific Railway train station that used to be in Elko, BC is now located in Cranbrook near the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel.

Any idea why numerous online references give date built for Elko station as 1901 whereas 1898 is the case?

Probably one site posted 1901 and everyone else copied it… unless perhaps the first station was quickly replaced by a second.
