I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Bruce Chapman. I never met him, but I felt I knew him (somewhat) through his many contributions to Branchline magazine.
Bruce worked for CP Rail for many years, starting with CP Telegraphs, then onto various roles with CPR such as operator, dispatcher, and motive power controller. He shared many tales from his employment in Branchline. I believe as motive power controller he may have been responsible for some rather interesting locomotive consists, welcomed by railfans…
