Northern Alberta Railways 1979 Timetable

This is a scan of the Northern Alberta Railways (NAR) public timetable #73 dated April 29, 1979. By this time, the NAR was not running dedicated passenger trains. The sole train on this schedule was a mixed train – a freight train with a baggage car and one or two passenger cars – between Edmonton and Fort McMurray. The NAR’s trains originated and ended at Dunvegan Yards Station (St. Albert Trail) in Edmonton, Alberta.

The timetable is a two-sided orange card. The front side has the schedule of trains 25 and 26, “The Muskeg Mixed”, which ran twice weekly.

Train 25 departed Edmonton at 17:30 (5:30 PM) on Sundays and Wednesdays, arriving at Lac La Biche at 21:47 and staying there for the night. On Mondays and Thursdays, train 25 departed Lac La Biche at 09:30 and was scheduled to arrive at Fort McMurray at 15:33.

The back of the timetable contains “general information” on where to buy a ticket, baggage, lost tickets and articles, children, and so on.
