This is a scan of the CN public timetable dated December 14, 1986 for the former Northern Alberta Railways. CN acquired CP’s share of the NAR and the NAR was absorbed into CN on January 1, 1981.
There are two trains on this schedule – a weekly mixed train and a weekly passenger train – between Edmonton and Fort McMurray. The trains ran from Dunvegan Yards Station (St. Albert Trail) in Edmonton, Alberta to Waterways Station in Fort McMurray, AB.

The timetable is a two-sided orange card. The front side has the schedule of trains 289 and 290 (mixed freight trains), running once weekly; and passenger trains 90 and 91, also running once weekly.
Mixed train 289 departed Edmonton at 18:00 (6 PM) on Wednesdays, arriving at Lac La Biche at 21:50 and staying there for the night. On Thursdays, train 289 departed Lac La Biche at 11:00 and was scheduled to arrive at Fort McMurray at 17:45.
The passenger train ran straight through from Edmonton to Fort McMurray without overnighting in Lac La Biche, taking 9 hours 50 minutes for the trip.
The back of the timetable contains “general information” on where to buy a ticket, baggage, lost tickets and articles, children, and so on.
